Return of Pamela Thorby
Sunday 22nd August
Last year “Pamela Thorby, Elizabeth Kenny and Susanne Heinrich gave what was regarded by many as the finest concert in six festivals”
Pamela, one of the world’s finest recorder players, returns this year to play Vivaldi’s
Concerto for Sopranino Recorder in C Major RV443 and Telemann’s Concerto for flute,
recorder, strings and continuo in E minor with The Locrian Ensemble.
Bringing together some of the most prominent string soloists in London, THE LOCRIAN ENSEMBLE has established an enviable reputation for its recordings, broadcasts and live performances. This outstanding concert features Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, soloist Rita Manning, violin and also the world premiere of a work for flute and strings by Elgar Howarth with soloist Anna Noakes, flute.
